Keeping Up with Ava

The top pictures are from this morning. Ava loves carrying around her Puppy and making it sing songs to her - she even claps to "If you're happy and you know it.." Super cute! Thanks again Melissa and Jeff for this awesome toy - she gets a ton of use out of it everyday!

The bottom pic is from Tuesday afternoon. Heather and Connor came over for a bit. Ava and Connor had an awesome time playing and throwing Kix around the room - both kids decided that Kix are good to eat but better to watch as they fall like confetti! Needless to say, Monte is more than happy to clean up the mess!

The bottom picture is unposed - Ava got all comfortable on Heather and drank her bottle while reclining. I had a few more pictures of the kids playing together, but because they move around so much I didn't have any good ones - they were all very fuzzy.

Kevin had to take the car to work today because the door to his van didn't close all of the way and the battery is dead. Ava and I are stuck in the house for our third day in a row. *Sigh* We are looking forward to going to Bearly Toddler class tomorrow morning!!!

The Doctor Appt

Yesterday Ava came with us to a doctor's appt for Mommy and our new baby (still residing in Mommy's tummy). She was such a big girl as you can see from her sitting in the big chair.

The most exciting part of the appt was hearing our baby's heartbeat for the first time. Very exciting!!!

My camera ran out of batteries last week at Ava's party, so we had no pictures to post until now - sorry for the long delay (again)!

A Very Happy Birthday!

Ava had a wonderful birthday party!! She was able to see a bunch of friends and family that she doesn't normally see and also some good playmates showed up for the festivities too!

Had I been thinking I would have made sure to have backup batteries so I could capture the whole party - hopefully I can get some pics from others who were thoughtful enough to have taken additional pictures!!!

Mom, Dad and Ava all took yesterday to relax and enjoy the quiet house. Ava took some nice naps as I believe she was tuckered from the day before! Thanks to everyone who made the trip to Winona to be here - it was a terrific party!! Ava is loving the toys and clothes that she got too. She was playing peekaboo with the clothes and last night she was playing with her new purse!!! FUN!

Happy Birthday Ava!!!

Our little sweetie is one year old today. Here is what she looks like today versus a year ago. We are looking forward to the big party tomorrow!!!

The final Baby and Me Class

Here is Ava making herself comfortable while sitting in a box of toys! Tuesday was the final Baby and Me class. I was so proud of her during class because she shared some foam blocks with a couple of other babies in the class - to my knowledge it was the first time she shared toys - usually she is grabbing them away from other kids!

Today we went shopping for supplies for her big birthday party on Saturday. It is really difficult remembering how life was a year ago - before we met our little sweetie!

Mini Missions

The top pic is Ava walking around the house with some diapers that she grabbed out of a drawer in her room. Previous to this we were playing and reading books in the living room when she got up and left the room. Sometimes I just wonder if she knows what she is planning to do before she does it!

The middle pic is of Ava at play group this morning. She seems to like going up the slide versus using the ladder - I guess it seemed like a fun thing to do at the time. We were only there for a short period of time because I had a chiropractor appt for my left arm - it is really quite painful, but I am hoping the adjustment will help me be able to pick up Ava without being in pain.

It was a small group at play group - Heather and Connor weren't there (I'm convinced that Heather is avoiding me so she can keep saving with the Winhawk Card!) ;)

The bottom pic is Ava making the tough choice between Kix and Cheerios - she is so quick at getting into the cabinets to pull out the boxes that it reminds me how fast she can get into naughty things too.

Nonstop

We have been busy around the house - mostly keeping up with Ava. She is quick and there is always something new that she is attempting to discover! She has grown and changed so much in only a couple of weeks - I can't believe she is almost a year old!

Her favorite thing to do these days is pick something up and carry it from one room to another.

Kevin and I cleaned out our closet where we found an old softball jersey - Monte wore it around the house for the day!

The Busy Body

Ava is walking in full force now - which is wonderful (mostly). There are very few points in the day where she will snuggle with me or be content to play with her toys for a period of time. She is always on the move - walking from room to room.

Today she decided that her room was her room and she kept going in and closing the door behind her (who is this little girl?) I took a peek in to see what she was up to and found her emptying the contents of her dresser onto the floor... how nice! Another favorite activity as of late is getting into the cupboard where the Kix and Cherrios are kept. She will actually take the boxes out and step on them to get them open. Monte is getting his fill of Cheerios too!

I'm not sure where the week went - I am really excited about getting back into our routine next week.
